The Ansar-ul-Deen
mosque was opened in 1997. The mosque could be entered
from Böckmannstraße via a large court-yard. It was situated
in the district called St. Georg near to the main railway
station, and you could easily get there by underground
(U-Bahn), by suburban train (S-Bahn) or by bus.
The mosque was open 24 hours a day.
It comprised of two prayer rooms and washing
facilities.
Beside them there was an office, and it was possible
to instruct children and adults at week-ends.
The sermons of Friday prayer and
the prayers at both holidays (on the occasion of the
feast of sacrifice at the end of the annual pilgrimage
to Mecca and the feast of breaking fast after the end
of the month of Ramadan) were translated into four
languages:
In Haussa, Arabic, English and French. About 200
muslims were gathering in our mosque on Friday for prayer
and after that for social get-together, among them women
and children.
After afternoon prayer in the month of Ramadan the Qur'ân (Koran) was recited and explained, and after night prayer many
Muslims were gathering for common so-called Tarâwîh prayers.
Details regarding dates and times
of Friday prayers and prayers on the occasion of the
feast of sacrifice and the feast of breaking fast will
be found on our page "actual news".
